Mr Andrew Bridger
Civilian Intructor 

Andrew joined the Squadron, as part of the Essex Wing at a late age of 15 as a cadet on the 18 February 1987.
 
Andrew was  heavily involved in flying and gliding throughout his career in the Air Training Corps. He completed his first gliding scholarship at RAF Syerston. Throughout his cadet career, Andrew completed the RAF Rutland 40km Walk on 4 occasions, gained his RAF swimming Proficiency, First Aid Three Cross and his RAF Markman awards. In addition, he was part of the team that won the Elworthy competition. 

Academically, Andrew passed his First Class, Leading and Senior classifications obtaining a credit in each. During this time Andrew also found the time to attend five UK annual camps. Andrew was the best cadet in 1989 and has won over 25 medals through representing 2324 in squadron and wing sporting events. He has achieved the Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh award and completed his Gold expedition, but had to leave the Corps prior to completing the award.

Having left the Squadron to study law and business management, Andrew went on to join the Royal Air Force as an Air Movement Officer, working on many large aircraft such as the Hercules, DC10 and the Tristar. Later he transfered over to Provost (Police) and after leaving the service, In 2003 he joined Essex Police as a Police Constable. 

Andrew rejoined the Air Training Corps as a Civilian Instructor in February 2006 taking on the squadrons Training Programme. He is currently the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Officer, meaning that having completed his assessments, he is now accredited to assess the squadrons awards and progress. Andrew also has overall responsibility for Flying and Gliding, Media Communication and assists with the Training Programme on the Squadron.
