FLT LT Vince Ferguson RAFVR (T)


Vince joined 2408 ( Campion ) Squadron in 1980 as a cadet rising to the rank of Corporal before leaving in 1984 to pursue a career as a stockbroker in the City of London. After establishing his business and raising a family, he returned to the Corps in 2009 as a Civilian Instructor at 452 ( Hornchurch) Squadron assuming the role of Adjutant. Vince was Commissioned in 2011 and continued at 452 until his appointment as Commanding Officer of 2324 (Chigwell Squadron) in April 2014. His family have a long standing association with the Royal Air Force from his great grandfather serving in the Royal Flying Corps and both his grandfather and father with the RAF. Outside the Corps, Vince is married with twin daughters and his other interests include his classic MGB Roadster.

F S Yvonne Faulkner (ATC)


FS Faulkner has been in the ATC since 2006 and has served on many Squadron’s, she has been on 2324 Squadron for 4 years and is the Squadron warrant Officer which looks after the new recruits training programme as well as teaching Drill.


Fg Officer Joe Halliday


My name is Joseph Halliday I am a new CI on 2324 ageing out recently after 8 years as a cadet nearly 3 of witch as cadet SNCO. I have a large sporting background and I have a keen interest in field craft and completed the 13th junior leadership course. I am aspiring to become a VRT officer within the ATC.

OCdt Marius Vermaak


OCdt Vermaak joined the squadron in 2007 and progressed through the ranks to Cadet Warrant Officer. During his time with us he took part in a number of events including the Nijmegen marches, the International Air Cadet Exchange and the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. He is currently a member of the Oxford University Air Squadron and has plans to join the Royal Air Force once his studies are complete.
OCdt Vermaak is currently involved with the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme and is a qualified Bronze and Silver Expedition assessor.

Sgt Josh Morris


Sgt Morris has served on two other units before joining 2324 as a Civilian Instructor. He was appointed Sgt (ATC) in January 2015 and assists FS Faulkner with drill and discipline as well as instructing in engineering studies ( a Fords engineer by profession).

A keen sportsman, Josh helps out with all of the Sqn sports and greens activities. In his spare time, Josh plays football and has a keen interest in motor racing.

CI Jon Linger


I was a Cadet at 4F Ilford sqdn &  during his time their attended  3 annual camps, did several flights in RAF aircraft &  helicopters &  went solo in a glider. He returned to cadets as CI at 1147 barking sqdn a few years later the hi light of which was navigator course at RAF Finningley where he flew in jet navigation trainer.

After a break of 20 years he rejoined  2324 sqdn as a CI.  He is their Training officer which includes organising the sqdn plan & the ground training of the cadets in how aircraft fly, how they are navigated, operated and flown etc. He attended annual camp in 2012 at RAF Wittering & has helped with the Bronze& silver DofE expeditions.

He is also working towards becoming an gliding instructor at 615 volunteer Gliding school at RAF Kenley in South London where he re-soloed in June 2013. He is currently on his way to become a G2 graded instructor.


CI Helen O’Keefe


CI Helen O’Keefe has been attached to 2324 (Chigwell) squadron for 10 years, joining the squadron at the age of 13 in 2006. During her time at 2324, she progressed to the rank of Cadet Warrant Officer and once aged out, has become a Civilian Instructor staff member. To highlight a few of her achievements; she completed her Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award, was appointed London Wing’s Sports Person of the Year in 2009/10, lead the winning Inness Sword and Elworthy team in 2009, attended UK and overseas annual camps, helped coach London Wing’s netball and hockey teams and mentored JNCO’s at London Wing’s JNCO courses. Helen holds a current First Aid Heart Start assessors qualification, Archery Instructor qualification, a Level 2 Netball and Hockey Coach Qualification and is hoping to achieve her Basic Expedition Leaders Award and Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Assessor qualifications later this year.
