Adventure Training

If you are looking for something more exiting and exhilarating to do with your weekends or weeks away, then Chigwell Squadron is the place for you.

Adventure Training forms an essential part of the Air Cadet’s training syllabus. As well as helping cadets forge new friendships, adventure training enables all cadets to show off their leadership qualities.

We regularly (5-6 times a year) travel to the Lake District, North and South Wales and the Peak District to conduct adventure training, both as a Squadron and with other units.

During this year alone we have been, or will be hill walking, canoeing, rock climbing and running high ropes courses all over the country and we are always looking to expand our range of activities.

As well as taking part, you can work towards nationally recognised qualifications in all of these areas, for almost no cost in the ATC.

We also have regular ‘green’ weekends where we carry out exercises to practice tactical camp craft, escape and evasion and small team tactics, such as camouflage and concealment, observation posts and tactical reconnaissance.
